Manipal: Dr.B.R.Shetty Delivers Leadership Lecture at TAPMI

Padmashri Dr B. R. Shetty, Managing Director & CEO, NMC, Abu Dhabi, delivered a leadership lecture on “Developing Sustainable Global Business” at TAPMI today. The leadership lecture series provide a platform for students to interact with distinguished leaders and draw inspiration from them.
Speaking to the students, Dr. B. R. Shetty shared his experience of being the first outdoor salesman in UAE. “I brought in privatization in the medical sector in UAE where the medical facilities are completely free. Manipal has taught me how to build my organization. We all must learn to give back to society, that’s where the point of sustainably actually gains its importance” he said.




Dr. Saji Gopinath, Director TAPMI said “Businesses operating globally are facing different levels of challenges that are unique and compelling in terms of market responsiveness. Businesses hence are moving towards sustainability to thrive in varied conditions, converting challenges into opportunities and building conglomerates. Shetty has encapsulated his experiences in a magnificent manner and lent credence to the belief that growth of a business is in its ability to sustain challenges in any environment in which it operates.”

About the TAPMI Leadership lecture Series: The Silver Jubilee Leadership Lecture Series was started in 2009 to commemorate TAPMI’s 25 years of excellence in management education. This initiative is undertaken by TAPMI to nurture future leaders by providing a platform to the young business minds to interact with the great leaders of today. The first lecture in the series was delivered by Shri Salman Khurshid, Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Minority Affairs on Corporate Governance. Shri Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-chief, CNN-IBN and renowned journalist talked about Customer Orientation and Objective Journalism the second to deliver a . The third TAPMI Silver Jubilee Leadership Lecture on Entrepreneurship as a career was delivered by Shri. Manish Sabharwal, a successful serial entrepreneur and co-founder of TeamLease Services. The fourth in the series was delivered by His Excellency Shri M. K. Narayanan, Governor of West Bengal and Former National Security Advisor, on the topic, India’s Engagement with the World.
