Udupi: St Mary’s CBSE School Kannarpady celebrates 73rd Republic Day

Udupi, Jan 26: The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated with great ardor at St Mary’s campus. The celebration began with a prayer song led by students’ choir. The proud alumnus of the school Deepak Prabhu, the chief manager and Head of Operations, Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi unfurled the national flag. The audience honored the tricolor with National Anthem and Dhwajgeeth.

Gerald Pinto, the physical education director escorted the guest and other dignitaries to the flag post and assisted the formalities of unfurling of flag. A floral tribute was paid to the portrait of Dr B R Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution. Later an attractive ceremonial Parade presented by School’s NCC Cadets, Scouts and Guides and the students of Grade 9 upraised the spirit of the event. After receiving the guard of honour chief guest Deepak Prabhu addressed the staff and students. He appealed students to value the sacrifices made by the great freedom fighters and strengthen the integrity of the nation by contributing towards the wellbeing of the society.

Correspondent Fr Charles Menezes in his presidential address highlighted the need of practicing the core values of the Constitution to spread peace and harmony in society and to solidify the unity of the Nation.The Chief Guestwas presented with a mementoas a mark of love and gratitude.

Fr Ashwin Aranha, the Asst Parish Priest graced the occasion. The programme was coordinated by princiapl Fr Johnson L Sequeira and vice principal Rita Quadros. Manjula K was the master of ceremony. Lavita extended the words of welcome. Dakshayini proposed the vote of thanks.
