Mumbai: Federation of World Bunts association holds social welfare programme

Mumbai, Jan 31: “Aikala Harish Shetty as the president of the Federation of World Bunts association has done uninterrupted work for the last four years. Society needs leaders like him. He is wiping the tears of the families in distress in the society. He has strengthened the society. Let us all join hands with him,” said Mumbai Organic chemical company president Anand M Shetty.

He was speaking after distributing cheques to the beneficiaries in the programme of social welfare held at the Federation of World Bunts association Bunts Hostel platinum jubilee building auditorium, Mangaluru. The programme was chaired by Bunts Federation president Aikala Harish Shetty.

Mangaluru MLA Vedavyas Kamath said that he will always join hands in the work of Bunts community. Mumbai based entrepreneur Shashidhar Shetty Innanje said that the federation has donated more than Rs nine crore during the last four years.

Aikala Harish Shetty said that the federation distributes in the society the amount received from donors. He requested a donation of at least 30 cents land to construct an auditorium so that the amount earned from it be used in the community.

Okkoota treasurer Ulthoor Mohandas Shetty, former mayor Diwaker Pandeshwar and corporator Manohar Shetty were present. Professor Bhasker Rai Kukkuvalli, Karnataka Yakshagana academy member Kadri Navaneeta Shetty, journalist B Ravindra Shetty, Pradeep Kumar Rai, Aikala Bava, teacher Sainath Shetty Mundkoor, Dr Sudharani Ph D and Dr Amparu Nithyananda Shetty, newly elected Bantwal Bantara Sangha president Chandrahas Shetty Rangoli, Puttur Bantara Sangha president Bolyottu Shashdihar Shetty, Mulki Bantara Sangha president Purushotham Shetty, Bellapalli Bantara Sangha president Ashok Shetty and Gurupura Bantara Sangha president Santhosh Shetty were honoured.

Aikala Harish Shetty distributed compensation cheques worth Rs 30 lacs to 95 people for medical treatment, weddings, education, house repairs and house construction.

Udaya Kumar sang a prayer. Okkoota vice president Karnire Vishwanath Shetty welcomed. Chief secretary Jayakar Shetty Indrali gave an introduction. Purushotham Bhandary Adyar, Sharath Shetty Kinnigoli, Sathish Adapa Sankabail read letter of felicitation. Joint secretary Sathish Adapa Sankabail read the list of beneficiaries. Navin Shetty Edmemar compered the programme. Jayakar Indrali rendered a vote of thanks.
