Mangaluru Jan 31: MLA and newly appointed deputy leader of the Congress Legislative party in the state Assembly U T Khader said, "There is no question of C M Ibrahim leaving the Congress party.

Addressing a query about C M Ibrahim quitting Congress party, Khader said, ‘There is no connection between C M Ibrahim's disgruntlement and my appointment as deputy leader. Congress has recognized Ibrahim in the past as well and it will remain so in the future as well."

"Our party functions with the ideologies of Mahatama Gandhi and B R Ambedkar’s constitution. My induction as the deputy leader has increased my responsibilities. I thank all the leaders for giving me the opportunity. It’s my responsibility to speak effectively and upfront about the failures of the government as the deputy leader," said Khader.

Former MLA Abhayachandra Jain, District Youth Congress leader Luqman Bantwal, Congress leaders T K Sudhir, Santhosh Shetty, Subodh Alva, Monu, Lawrence and others were present.
