Mangaluru, Feb 1: The Karnataka Bank Limited (Bank), has scheduled its 98th Founders’ Day celebration on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 4.00 pm. Justice S Abdul Nazeer, presently the judge of Supreme Court of India, New Delhi has consented to deliver the Founders’ Day Lecture. Hailing from Beluvai/Moodbidri of Dakshina Kannada District, justice S Abdul Nazeer completed his law degree from SDM Law College, Mangaluru. He was enrolled as an Advocate in 1983 and practiced at the Karnataka High Court in Bengaluru. In May 2003, he was appointed as an additional judge of the Karnataka High Court and was later appointed as permanent judge of the high court. In February 2017, while serving as a judge of the Karnataka High Court, he was elevated to the Supreme Court of India, only to become the third judge ever to be elevated in this way” said Mahabaleshwara M S, MD and CEO of the bank.
The founders’ day lecture will be followed by Carnatic Classical Musical Concert by flautists Vidwan Heramb and Hemanth accompanied by Vidwan Vittal Rangan on Violin, Vidwan Patri Satish Kumar on Mridangam and Vidwan Dr S Karthick on Ghatam.
Speaking more about the event, Mahabaleshwara further said, “The event will be streamed live in Bank’s official social media handles on Youtube and Facebook. Popular TV Channels of the coastal Region, 'Namma Kudla' and 'Namma TV' will telecast the event live. The Founders’ Day celebrations will also be broadcasted live through ‘All India Radio’ Mangaluru. The programme will be conducted by adhering to the extant Covid-19 guidelines at the auditorium of Bank’s head office, Mangaluru and will be presided by P Pradeep Kumar, chairman of the Bank ”.
