Bengaluru, Feb 2: A case has been registered in V V Puram police station in the city against four employees of the government Victoria Hospital here. They have been accused of demanding bribe of Rs 50,000 to provide treatment to a patient in the intensive care unit of the hospital and also abusing the caste of the daughter of the patient.
The complaint was filed by Laxmi from Bhuvaneshari Nagara, Gubbalala. She has named the erring hospital staff as Anand, Nagesh, Girish, all hospital staff, and security personnel, Ranjeetha.
Laxmi's mother, Yellamma, had suffered a paralytic stroke. On January 28, Nagesh and Girish were accused of approaching Laxmi, the daughter of the patient, and demanding from her a bribe of Rs 50,000 if she wants her mother to get cured. Laxmi refused to pay after which she said she was subjected to caste abuse and assault.
At the same time, accused Anand, Girish, Nagesh and Ranjeetha have filed a cross complaint against Laxmi, denying the allegations and accusing her of filing false complaint against them, the police said.
