Mangalore, Dec 23: The lamp lighting and the oath taking ceremony of the 53rd batch of GNM and 24th batch of BSc Nursing of Fr Muller College students held in the academy hall here on Wednesday December 22 at 10.30 am.
Chief guest for the function was Dr Jacintha D'Souza, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya. Administrator Of FMMC, Fr Denis D'Sa, director Fr Patrick Rodrigues, Sr Jacintha D'Souza, Sr Winifred and Sr Erelene were also present.
The programme began with a prayer song by the third and fourth year BSc students. Sr Jacintha D'Souza escorted the dignitaries to the dais.
Prof Mariatte D'Silva welcomed the gathering. The next event was the garlanding of the potrait of Florence Nightingale and Fr Augustus Muller. This was followed by the lamp lighting and the oath taking ceremony.
Chief guest was presented with a memento. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues gave the presidential address.
The formal programme ended with the institutional anthem, which was followed by a cultural performance by the students.
