Mangaluru: The Spirit of Giving - MFC missionaries distribute Kindness Kit

Mangaluru, Feb 4: No One in Need Ministry (NONe) – an initiative of the Missionary Families of Christ (MFC) Mangaluru - in association with the Family Life Service Centre, Diocese of Mangalore, distributed 'Kindness Kits' (essential grocery kits) to the less privileged families across 9 parishes of the Diocese of Mangalore.

This initiative was taken to share the spirit of giving during Christmas to those families affected by the economic upheaval during the year. The Kindness Kits were distributed to 200 such identified families across the Parishes of Sacred Heart of Jesus - Madanthyar, St Pauls Church - Delanthabettu, St Sebastian Church - Permannur, St Lawrence Church - Vijay Adka, Christ the King Church - Kayyar, Mother of God Church - Manela, Our Lady of Dolours Church - Kasargod, Our Lady of Fathima Church - Miya Padavu and St. Joseph’s Church - Jeppu. Each kit consisted of essential groceries worth Rs. 1200 to cover a month’s ration of a family.

The Missionary Families of Christ (MFC) Mangaluru spearheaded this initiative along with its community members consisting of MFC Kids, MFC Youth, MFC Singles and MFC Couples. They mentioned, “The No One in Need movement is our response to building the Church for the poor and a sustainable community. Sponsors and well-wishers donated generously for the cause allowing us to serve more of our brothers and sisters in need.”

No One in Need (NONe) is a Catholic movement responding to the call of living a preferential option for the poor. It responds to a call to build not only social communities but spiritual communities. It responds to be a blessing to our closest neighbour. NONe believes in this, “Less for self. More for others. Enough for all.”
