Mangaluru: Collection box, board placed seeking donation for road repair

Mangaluru, Feb 7: The service of road adjacent to Bikkarnakatte flyover is filled with potholes and is untouched since several years.

Repeated pleas of the locals here to repair the road have been falling on deaf ears.

On Monday February 7, a board was planted along with collection box to collect money to repair the service road adjacent to Bikkarnakatte flyover.

Urging the public to donate generously, the board says that the money collected will be handed over to the MP and MLA for the road repair.

    Why to colect donation again. ??? Tax money not enough?? And what garantee that mney wil be used for repair. After seeing lot money. Anyones mind wil change into greedy. And also nearby bar also available. Why would they spent on repair. Foolish people. Scam .

    Building a Statue is one thing but giving them names as ‘ Statue of Unity’ and ‘ Statue of Equality’ needs to be questioned. Whether we have to stand below the statues to say all are united and all are equal, or otherwise is still not clear . If that money was used for better infrastructure of reconstruction, building roads etc then we all could hold placards of Unity and Equality. Better still employ the students who are protesting for against’ hijab’ can be better employed for a purpose. They will surely learn more about good things and good conduct

    Bjp won mangalore mp seat last 30years....now kept collection box means next election nalin kumar dont have money because no development work no commission... Than how to spend money in election.... I think government also bharbad... Mangalore public plz collect all 5 and 10paise coins this coins not banded by modi govt.. They will eat up the money. It is better for the people to unite and do the road repairs. We don't need MLA or MP as both are good for nothing.

    Jeetprasad...we know infrastructure in India very well. We pay tolls or road taxes but condition of roads are pathetic thanks to our beloved MP's and MLA's who are more interested in hijab, suffron shawls and beef.

    TOLL GATES are implemented to help recoup the costs of road construction and maintenance. As per the rule the distance between two toll gates should be 60 KM but here there were three toll gates within 60KM. You are the only paying taxes? Each and everybody is paying taxes by GST and road tax etc. etc. except chor corporates. Your comment sounds you are bhakt.

    What priorities are you talking about. Have you seen how much money is spent on Kadri Park road ? They have spent so many crores on that, specially what they are building at the side . I'm not saying it was needed or not needed. Since you said that there are other priorities I have kadri park road as an example. This road where they have put the banner thousands if not hundreds of vehicles pass everyday. So it needs to get fixed, and the roads condition is the same since 2 years. Please don't say there are other priorities than this in terms of infrastructure.

    I heard that India is planning to go to moon with astronauts. Definitely the rocket instead of going towards moon it will surely land somewhere in Mangalore. ( if they won't repair the roads before that. )
