Mumbai, Feb 8: Jayakar D Poojary (77), former honorary chief secretary and former vice president of Billavara association Mumbai, honorary chief secretary of Goregaon Karnataka Sangha, Tulu author and Tulu script researcher passed away at his residence in Borivili west here on Monday evening, February 7 after a massive heart attack.
He hailed from Moodbidri and living in Mumbai had retired after being employed in Vijaya Bank and Bank of Baroda. He was a scholar in IAS, banking and management sector and was active in several organizations. He used to conduct classes over studies and research in Tulu script.
The deceased has left behind his wife, a son, a daughter, friends and relatives. Heads and members of various local organizations have expressed condolences on his death.
