Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, Feb 8: “The Hijab vs saffron row in Udupi is not an intelligence failure. The hearing o the petition in this regard has reached a stage today. The verdict is likely to be out in the next couple of days after the arguments," said MLA Raghupathi Bhat.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, February 8, he said, "There is no connection between the upcoming elections and BJP. A competition has ensued between the SDPI, CFI and Congress to garner Muslim votes. The educational institutes should not be centres of religious conflicts. After SDPI managed to get 100 votes in Kaup Assembly constituency, Congress is desperately after Muslim electorate."

Speaking on the the Hijab row heating up in the whole state, he said, "The six girl students have ruined the harmony and health of the state. They have been misled even after a meeting of parents and students. They are following arrogant policies. All should follow the court verdict. The MLAs in Udupi are waiting for the end of this case.“

Reacting to the removal of Yashpal Suvarna from the position of vice president of Government Women’s Pre-university College, he said that it is not possible to remove him just because somebody said something about him. “Yashpal is a major big donor to this school,” he said.
