Bengaluru, Feb 10: Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, noted that several of his critics have put a question mark on the alleged family politics indulged in by his close ones. "There have always been discussions and criticisms relating to my family. Providing clarifications to all the queries is irrelevant now. If I had not entered politics, my party would have been non-existent. In order to save the party, I had to field my wife in the election fray," he explained.
Kumaraswamy asserted that there is no question of fielding his wife, Anita Kumaraswamy, in the next election. "It is true that a few members of my family have entered politics. But they had to do so to save the party. At the same time, we have not made any party workers scapegoats to serve our interests. My affection and attention is always for my state rather than my family," he claimed.
He was speaking in an open-hearted discussion with Kannada activists on Wednesday February 9 at the townhall here. He urged the Kannada activists to enter the legislature in order to achieve integrated development of the state. He wished that the government of Kannadigas would rise to power in Karnataka in 2023.
