Battle for UP: Modi attacks SP, says earlier govts only family-oriented

Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 10 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, while addressing his first physical rally in Uttar Pradesh for elections, said that a BJP government is "necessary" for the state and the earlier governments 'could not see or think beyond family'.

Attacking rivals, he also said that vaccines would be sold on streets if 'dynastic parties' would have been in power in Uttar Pardesh.

"People have decided to vote for those who develop UP. Those who keep UP riots-free, those who keep our mothers and daughters free of fear, those who keep criminals in jail, people will vote for them," Modi said at a rally in Saharanpur.

Modi targeted the Samajwadi Party and its allies, termed them as "ghor- parivarvadi log".

He also heaped accusations on Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and his ally Jayant Chaudhary of the Rashtriya Lok Dal without naming them.

"Earlier governments had no vision because of 'parivarvaad' (nepotism). They could not see or think beyond family. They did not worry about you but only ran everything via mafias. We bring permanent solutions and want every citizen to live with self-respect," he said.

    Modi Ji, Why are you alleging that previous governments are only family oriented or dynasty's??? Who stopped you/BJP to form Dynasty/family based Government??? Why are you showing your anger against those families??? Don't you think it's very cheap/silly to attack opposition on blaming their families??? Did anyone stopped you to form BJP family Government??? How many BJP MP/MLA's have their family members in BJP government??? Why don't you name them??? People are fed up of your cheap mentality and Mann ki baath!!! Why don't you face Journalists on the issue of ECONOMY???

    Modi led BJP is desperately trying to woo voters in UP. Many of his rallies got cancelled due to lack of participation of people. But, for PM Modi, winning all 5 states for BJP is very very critical or else he will lose the clout inside and outside of BJP. That may trigger calls to vacate PM post. He is worried, so he and party fellows desperately scaring voters, talking of pakistan and similar related issues, rather than any development. That is the only way left to gain some votes it looks like for BJP now, having failed in all fields that improve citizens lives .

    Our PM should deliver his speeches very carefully bcoz many Bjp candidates were chased and driven back in many constituencies in U.P. just bcoz they failed to deliver the promises made in the past.

    Hello Lewis, this Adani character existed much before Modi Regime! He started flourishing when UPA 1 and UPA2 were in power for 10 L-O-N-G years!! Chidu and Sibal were his ardent supporter then. Probably without nod from 10 JP, nothing would've worked out, right Lewis Baab!?
