Bangalore, Dec 28 (PTI): In a fence-mending move, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday said he would meet Governor H R Bhardwaj once in 15 days as he stressed that there should not be any room for rift and disagreement.

"There should not be any rift with the Governor, neither any room for disagreement. As a Governor, he has freedom to offer suggestions", Yeddyurappa said, appearing to soften his stance towards Bhardwaj, both of whom are locked in a war of words, particularly in recent weeks.

The Chief Minister's comment is seen as a sign of mending fences with the Governor, who had repeatedly sought answers from the Yeddyurappa Government on allegations of corruption and nepotism.

Resenting Governor's frequent outbursts, the ruling BJP has accused Bhardwaj of being a "Congress agent" and demanded his recall.

Yeddyurappa said as the opposition parties meet the Governor and complain (against the Government), it's his duty to meet Bhardwaj and give "some information".

"The Governor is elderly and experienced. There should be cordial atmosphere. We need his cooperation at every step. We need his feedback and suggestions. I will meet him once in 15 days and take his suggestions and try to understand his feelings", the Chief Minister said.

Yeddyurappa said he would meet the Governor on Friday and also invite him to address the joint session of the state Legislature commencing on January six.
