Mangalore, Dec 29: Sulochana Bhat, the state vice-president of BJP on Tuesday December 28 that 3,659 BJP-backed candidates are contesting in taluk panchayat and zilla panchayat polls.
Among the tickets, BJP party has given 198 tickrtd to SC/ST women candidates for the TP polls and 186 SC/ST women candidates for the ZP polls. Assuring tha the BJP has selected able candidates, she assured of good work.
She said that the BJP Mahila Morcha is functioning excellently at the taluk levels.
Padmanabh Kottari, the president of the district BJP, Pushpalatha Gatti, the president of the BJP Mahila Morcha (city unit); and Sudha Bhat were also present.
