Udupi: Overdose of Intoxicants – Security Guard Loses Life

Udupi, Jan 1: A person named Basavaraja Yallappa Nanadagi (39), hailing from Saundatti in Belgaum district, lost his life due to excessive consumption of intoxicants on Friday December 31. He was employed by Dobermen Security Services till recently, as a guard at Manipal Institute of Technology.

It is learnt that Nanadagi used to attend his duties, fully drunk. As such, he had been warned that he would be transferred. About two weeks ago, he resigned from his job, and went missing. His mobile phone too remained switched off.  His body was found lying in a drain near Mannapalla in Shivalli village on December 31. It is learnt that he lost his life due to excessive use of intoxicants.

On a complaint filed in this respect by Mahadev Yallappa Hundannavar from Sundatti, a case was registered in Manipal police station.
