Al Jubail: Club Toastmaster Humorous Speech - Shameer Ahmed, M'lorean Prez Wins


Al Jubail, Jan 2: The Mangalorean President of the Club Toastmaster Shameer Ahmed emerged as the winner of  Humorous speech contest.
 
In this season, Toastmasters Clubs all around the Globe conduct Humorous and Evaluation Contests at club level as a first step in the Speech Competitions held annually. Winner of the all club level competitions will  join together for area level contest as next step in the journey of competitions which ultimately culminates at district level. Al Jubail is at the forefront of Toastmaster activities with so many community and corporate clubs which help people  sharpening  their presentation and leadership skills.
 
Global Toastmasters Club, a prominent Club community club in  Al Jubail, conducted Humorous and Evaluation Contests of the club in colorful and grand way on Tuesday, 28/12/2010 at Al Jude village, Al Jubail.
 
Sergeant at arm TM Asif Rajput opened meeting and invited the president Shameer Ahmed presided who over the meeting, President greeted and welcomed the audience in his usual trade mark style. As per the Global Club tradition, he invited the dignitaries like TM Abdullah Al Shareef, Area 63 governor, TM PJJ Antony-Area 53 Governor and many more stalwart of  toastmasters to the stage to honor them with bouquet. Division ‘L’ Governor Toastmaster Khalid Matlagaitu was the chief guest.  President opened the meeting with a humorous quote and audience enjoyed the moment.  Then handed over the lectern to the contest master of Humorous Speech TM Anwar Mohiuddin. He conducted the entire humorous speech contest with ease. There were 6 toastmasters participated in the contest, Toastmaster Shameer Ahmed emerged as the winner.
 
After the short break of 15 minutes, presiding officer Shameer called the Contest master TM Abdulbari to conduct the evaluation session. After the target speaker TM Sreekumar’s wonderful speech, contest master asked all the evaluators to leave the hall and called one by one to evaluate. Toastmaster N.V. Arasu  emerged the winner of evaluation contest.
President asked the Div. Governor 53 PJJ Antony and founder president of the club TM waheed lateef to address the audience. Raffle draw was conducted by TM Suresh Thanneru, Vote of thanks was proficiently proposed by budding toastmaster Ramaswamy, and panel of judge was headed by DTM Abdulsattar with 7 judges to select the deserved contestant to be the winner of the club.
At the end president Shameer Ahmed invited all the attendees to have sumptuous dinner at adjacent dining hall.
 
The event was sponsored by NAMA Chemicals; he thanked the company CEO Mr. Abdulmohsen Al Ogaili with a grand plaque and thanked the sister club assignees for their praiseworthy service rendered during the event.
 
The president Shameer Ahmed was successful in his mission to bring up the new budding toastmaster to the fore, he assigned all new members to conduct the event, even  of the contestants are debutants and he achieved his goal in making toastmasters  a true  platform for the new aspiring leaders and communicators.
 
At the end of the program certificates were distributed  to all the assignees.   Participants and Excom to making this event a memorable one.

    Congratulations to Al Jubail Toastmasters Club. It is our dream that one day we shall visit Al Jubail and recollect all the good memories of this fishing village that has turned to be one of the largest Petrochemical complex. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at the Jubail date garden in the year 1964. We have been blessed ever since. Qudha Afeiz.
