Doha, Feb 20: Sanjiv Jain – Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of CDC inaugurated the 31st CDC cricket tournament 2022 in the presence of Qatar veterans cricket officials, all players and match officials at the Losail QCA Cricket Complex.
All the Covid protocols are being practiced at the grounds.
In the inaugural match, Mitra Mandal defeated the sponsors CDC by 4 wickets.
Put in to bat first, CDC managed to score 160 runs for a loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Mohammed Inam scored 32 runs in 10 balls with 4 sixes followed by Nasir Shaikh 30 runs, Salman 30 runs, Laksitha 29 runs for CDC.
For Mitra Mandal, Yeshwanth took 2 wickets acceding 9 runs, Bhushan took 2 wickets for 32 runs and Ajay got 3 wickets for 25 runs.
In reply, Mitra Mandal reached the target in 17.2 overs. Bhushan made 57 runs off 23 balls with 6 sixes, Vinod made 29 runs, Amol managed 27 runs and Kunal 26 runs.
For CDC, Nasir Shaikh got 3 wickets for 23 runs.
Bhushan of Mitra Mandal was adjudged Man of the Match.
In the other Matches, Gulf lights beat Serandeep CC by 49 runs.
Gulf Lights scored 177 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Daniyal made 48 runs with 5 sixes and 2 fours, Uzair Sadiq 36, Hassan 30 and Uzair Zubair 20 runs.
Gayan secured 3 wickets for 31runs and Mangah 3 wickets for 41runs.
Serandeep CC was 128 runs all out in 18.2 overs. Sachin scored 27 runs for the team.
Hassan secured 4 wickets for 10 runs, Amanullah 2 wickets for 19 runs and Uzair Sadiq 2 wickets for 29 runs
Hassan of Gulf lights was declared Man of the match.
Hanan defeated Wellon CC by 168 runs.
Hanan secured 235 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs whereas Mohd Azaruddin got 81 runs in 31 balls with 8 sixes and 6 fours. Saif scored 63 runs in 29 balls with 6 ‘sixes and 3 fours and Samsher 56 runs in 43 balls.
Hasan secured 3 wickets giving away 37 runs while Faris got 2 wickets acceding 42 runs.
Wellon CC was all out for 67 runs in 12.2 overs.
Mohd Adil obtained 4 wickets for 21 runs, Ramees 3 wickets for 14 runs and Aftab 2 wickets for 11 runs.
Mohd Azaruddin of Hanan was declared Man of the match
Opera XI beat Asian XI by 52 runs.
Opera XI secured 156 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Asian XI was all out at 104 runs in 14.4 overs.
