Kaup, Feb 23: The Hijab controversy continued to produce ripples in the government first grade college here on Tuesday February 22 as ten girl students who came with the HIjabs to the college returned home, as they were not prepared to remove the Hijabs when attending classes.
Seventeen Muslim girl students study in the college. Out of them, three come to the college with Hijabs and remove them when entering the classes. Out of the remaining 14, 12 came to the college on Tuesday with Hijabs and wanted to attend classes duly wearing the Hijabs. Two of them removed their Hijabs after the principal succeeded in convincing them. The other ten chose not to attend the classes.
Even though eight to ten students walked out of the classes pledging moral support to the above ten girl students, they returned to classes after the principal issued them a warning.
