Mangalore: Corporation Bank Wins Skoch Financial Inclusion Award

Mangalore, Jan 6: Corporation Bank has won the prestigious Skoch Financial Inclusion Award – 2011, instituted by Skoch Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd.

This award was handed over to Corporation Bank chairman and managing director, Ramnath Pradeep, by Reserve Bank of India deputy governor, Dr K C Chakrabarty, at a function held in New Delhi on Wednesday January 5. Dr C Rangarajan, chairman of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, was present at the function.

Corporation Bank has been chosen for this award, considering its feat of achieving the target of financial inclusion in villages having a population of over 2,000, as identified by the state level  bankers committee. The Bank has already reached the target of 333 set for it for the year ending March 31, 2012.

Skoch has been giving away awards to achievers from various fields. Experts and achievers drawn from different sectors are included in the panel formed by it to pick the winners.
