Karkala, Feb 23: “Family is an integral part of human life. Human beings begin their life journey from the family and end the life journey in the family itself,” said Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop Emeritus, Diocese of Mangalore.
He was addressing the devotees on the fourth day of the annual festival Eucharistic celebration here in St Lawrence Minor Basilica, Attur on Wednesday, February 23.
On the day dedicated to the families, Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza in his homily said, “In the modernized world as we witness decreasing morale in the families, there is a need for paying keen attention to our families.” he said.
Fr John Barboza of Pilar, Fr Joy Jolson Andrade of Shivamogga, Fr Maxim D’Souza of Mangaluru and Fr Royson Fernandes, editor, Uzwaad Konkani fortnightly, celebrated the other Eucharistic celebrations on the day.
Former minister Ramanath Rai, Pramodh Madhwaraj and Abhayachandra Jain visited the minor basilica and offered their prayers.
On February 24, the last day of the annual feast, six Eucharistic celebrations will be held at 8 am, 10 am, 12 noon, 2 pm, 4 pm and 7 pm. Dr Lawrence Mukkuzi, Bishop Diocese of Belthangady will celebrate the Eucharistic celebrations at 4 pm in Kannada.
