Kundapur, Feb 24: Hastha Shetty, currently discharging duty as the deputy range forest officer here, has been selected to become assistant conservator of forests (ACF).
Karnataka Public Service Commission had published the final list of selected candidates for the post of the assistant forest conservator in the department of forests, environment and ecology in Karnataka. In the forestry department, she has been placed second. Notification for 24 ACF posts had been issued on September 5, 2018 relating to the year 2017-18. The post falls under group A.
Hastha Shetty happens to be the daughter of Purandar Shetty and Varija Shetty couple from Kumbra, Puttur. She got primary and secondary education in Puttur and completed PU education in SDM College Ujire. She completed the four year degree in forestry through Ponnampet college in Kodagu. In 2019 she was posted as the deputy range forest officer for Kundapur subdivision.
Even when on duty, Hastha undertook studies and appeared for the examination. Her father was a construction supervisor till recently. He has now undertaken agriculture. Hastha will be deployed as the ACF after successful completion of two years training course.
