Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Feb 24: Several Indian students who had gone to Ukraine for studies are stranded there because of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The war has affected several countries of the world.

Another student, Clayton D'Souza of Padil trapped in Kyib of Ukraine, has passed on the message that there are no troubles at that moment. The parents of the students have contacted deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra. It is said that there were air bomb blasts hundreds of kilometres from the Claton's residence. Claton, who is a medical student, has telephoned his parents.

One of the stranded students is Anaina Anna from Derebail. She lives in Kharkid city on the border of Ukraine and has spoken over phone to her mother Sandhya stating that she was safe at that moment.

Ukraine is defending itself from the military attacks by Russia. The war has shaken the whole world since there is a fear of the third world war. The conflict began when Russian president Vladimir Putin sent his military to the area under the grip of East Ukraine and United States rebels. The situation has become even more tense after the countries against the war have imposed sanctions on Russia.

An Air India flight returned to Delhi after Ukraine said that it was involved in a military operation and the air space was closed on its east. Thousands of Indians are waiting to return to India amid the conflict. Russian president Vladimir Putin has deployed the Special Forces in two separate locations in Ukraine. The Air India aircraft decided to return to Delhi after messages were sent to all the planes heading to Ukraine.

The officials have declared the air space on the east of the country as dangerous The department of Russian aviation is likely to capture the air space.

The United Nations is repeatedly requesting Russia to withdraw its forces. Several countries including America have laid economic sanctions on Russia and warned it of strict action.

The video of Pakistan prime minister describing the conflict as "exciting" has gone viral. Russia has said that it welcomes the neutral stand of India. The Indian policy reflects on the special partnership between the two countries, stated Russia.

Indian govt is good for nothing! This callous attitude towards students stuck in war ridden Ukraine will prove to be very costly in 2024. Congress party under Rahul's leadership should intervene and make all arrangements/efforts to airlift these students just like how they helped migrant workers to travel back to their hometown during pandemic.

Let's blame the government for everything now. Simple. Weeks before the government had issued advisory to return back. Online classes were already in progress. But to save ticket prices people opted to do everything at last minute. Now because of this okay if war, government should come and rescue them at all cost!

After the "sitting on the fence" by India, it will have the last chance of ever getting it's citizens out from there. We have a weak leader who for election reasons, is quiet on the matter.

The government of India should immediately intervene for the safe passage to the Indian students and other citizens trapped in Ukraine. Late Sushma Swaraj was probably the best External Affairs Minister India have ever seen....she will be missed in this situations ....

I hope he is safe and gets safe passage out of Ukraine to India. This is yet another failure of EU which Helmut Kohl hoped would benefit from unity in diversity. It followed the pacifistic agenda after WWII but still hung on to the alliance called NATO hoping that they would not have to fight another war and spend from their pocket. Major NATO ally in US also got high by printing dollars and dominance of its currency. That's why they have not gotten over from the hangover of sanctions as the first/last line of defense. This day light betrayal of Ukraine will have ramifications in many parts of the world. Russia also has its own concerns to its security. Thanks to ageing Biden, they are also smelling blood and are seeking correction to how the future generation views history.
