Mumbai: Police arrest two for assault on sex workers

Mumbai, Feb 25: Two sex workers of red light area in Bhiwandi town were attacked by two men on Thursday. Police have arrested both accused.

Victim sex workers were operating in the Hanuman Tekdi locality. The accused are identified as Arbaz Javed Shaikh (24) and Muzahdin Shaikh (40). They had demanded a ransom of Rs 1500 from the victims and assaulted them when they refused to pay the same.

The accused allegedly banged the victims to the ground after holding their hand and also kicked them repeatedly. One of the victims made a video of the assault.

A case in this connection is registered in Bhiwandi police station.
