M'lore: National Level Workshop on 'Contemporary Indian Drama’ Begins at St Aloysius

Mangalore, Jan 7: A two-day national level workshop on ‘Contemporary Indian Drama’ commenced at Eric Mattais Hall, St Aloysius College here on Friday, January 7.
The workshop will concentrate more on the works of the famous dramatist Mahesh Dattani. He is the resource person of seminar. Speaking on the occasion, he said that drama is life which aims to entertain and also depict the social arena in which it has been written.
Assistant professor Pattabirama Somyaji of Mangalore University, the chief guest of the occasion also reiterated the importance of Dattani’s work in contemporary Indian drama.
Fr Swebert D’Silva, principal of the college welcomed the people gathered from all over India for the workshop. Dr A Lourdusamy, vice-principal and the head of the department introduced the workshop and the dignitaries present on the dais. Melisa Goveas, lecturer proposed the vote of thanks. Deepali Mallya and Ronald Xalxo compered the programme.
