Visuals of Indian students in bunkers disturbing: Rahul

New Delhi, Feb 26 (IANS): Amid conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the government has stepped up the evacuation process of Indians stranded in the war-torn country, mostly students.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said, "Visuals of Indian students in bunkers are disturbing. Many are stuck in eastern Ukraine which is under heavy attack. My thoughts are with their worried family members. Again, I appeal to GOI to execute urgent evacuation."

Meanwhile, the MEA has issued advisory that, "All Indian Citizens in Ukraine are advised to not move to any of the border posts without prior coordination with Government of India officials at the border posts and the Emergency numbers of Embassy of India, Kiev."

The Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday that the first batch of evacuees from the war-hit nation has reached Romania via the Suceava border crossing.

Any stranded person would naturally look distressed under these circumstances. It would be wiser for the opposition to use its good offices with Ukraine and Baltic nations to get the stranded Indians repatriated safely instead of blaming the ruling government. Air India and military aircrafts are waiting to airlift them provided they are able to board safely.

Hindustan is fortunate to have GODI media to provide such such round the clock coverage.....Mumkin hai....The diplomacy equation is out of compulsion to keep Thug Putin in good terms as a possible mediator with Muscling China sooner than later.., Diplomacy would have experienced some kind of mild wetting...., (stinking though)

@ Kitta..., thanks for giving some time to read my point of view., it seems that you got it right & tight..., & your conclusion doesn't deserve attention... probably there is a chance if you take time to read my views couple of time with little bit of wisdom quotient... i have no doubt that you will revoke your conclusion..,

Mr. Biju, Sorry to say but this is sick thinking. Education has no boundaries and knowledge can be sought anywhere. Thinking that everyone must expressively work within India is impractical. There are so many who are thriving abroad but also silently contributing to genuine causes and needs in India.
