Bengaluru, Feb 26: "The people in the BJP do not have love and respect for the nation. Even though Eshwarappa insulted the national flag, he has not yet been expelled from the ministry," said leader of the opposition, Siddaramaiah, expressing anger at the BJP leadership.
"Eshwarappa's statement is totally wrong. BJP national president, J P Nadda, had concurred that the Congress is right in carrying on fight against the minister. Nadda has agreed that Eshwarappa's statement amounted to the betrayal of the nation. Even after all these things, both the chief minister and BJP state president have supported Eshwarappa's statement," he stated.
Siddaramaiah pointed out that Eshwarappa had led the funeral procession of Harsha. He mentioned that Eshwarappa had violated the prohibitory orders issued by the BJP government. Still, no criminal case has been registered against Eshwarappa. Therefore, we have submitted a memorandum to the state governor seeking to dismiss Eshwarappa from the state ministry," he explained.
