Mangaluru, Feb 26: ‘Ankur’, the official academic launch of the 23rd batch of MBA students of Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) was held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at MSNIM campus at Bondel, Mangaluru. The programme was inaugurated by Vittaldas Leeladhar, Former deputy governor of Reserve Bank of India and Mentor of Women’s National Education Society.
On this occasion, 29 meritorious students who had secured distinction from Mangalore University in semester exams were awarded institute scholarships of Rs 2500. The Alumni Association president, Sandeep Baliga presented a cheque of Rs one lakh to Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, director of the Institute. Ten deserving students would receive a scholarship of Rs 10,000 each on account of this contribution.
In his address Leeladhar advised the students to achieve their goals by making maximum utilization of the resources provided by the institution for the next two years and becoming competitive enough to take on the challenges of the world. “Success can be achieved only through hard work irrespective of the background which we come from,” he said.
Quoting stories from the book ‘Every Chapter Teaches you Something’ by JP Vaswani, Leeladhar advised the students to empathise with others, think of all the alternatives before taking any important decision, handle situations tactfully and to let go of one’s personal ego. “Simplicity stands above all else,” he said. He shared his personal experiences and encouraged the students to always make their teachers and institution proud. His address truly inspired the students to carry forward the institution’s legacy.
Institute correspondent Jeevandas Narayan, Manel Annappa Nayak, vice president, Women’s National Education Society and Institute Director Dr Molly S Chaudhuri were present on the occasion.
Student Swathi Rao rendered the prayer. Dr Sharan Kumar Shetty, institute faculty gave the vote of thanks. Nanditha Sunil, faculty of MSNIM compered the programme. Suresh Shenoy was the staff coordinator of the Workshop.
