Mangalore: Asha Jyothi Organizes Unique Programme for Physically-challenged Kids

Mangalore, Jan 9: Asha Jyothi, Forum for the physically challenged and their parents, sponsored by Seva Bharathi ® organized a special programme for them here on Sunday January 9. 

The special programme was organized with the objective of bringing together physically challenged children and their parents, in order to rejuvenate their hope in the New Year, to share parenting experience among others and to pressurize the government to grant special facilities to the physically challenged children. 

Mayor Rajani Dugganna inaugurated the programme.

State department for physically disabled commissioner K V Rajanna presided.

The city municipal commissioner Dr k N Vijayaprakash, K P Achchayya of Corporation Bank – M G Road branch and G T Foundation managing trustee Dr Ravichandran were the chief guests.

Variety of games, camel rides, cock-fight, art display, Braille works of blind students and other works by physically challenged students were displayed at the special programme.

The variety food stalls including sweets were set up at the venue to get the feel of annual festivities.

The consultations with the medical surgeons were arranged for the differently-able children and elders. Free lunch and snacks, beverages were served to all.

Corporation Bank, Karnataka Bank, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Canara Bank, Mangalore Municipality sponsored the special programme.

Asha Jyothi chairman B Srinivas Rao welcomed the gathering.  Seva Bharathi trustee Dr U V Shenoy delivered the introductory address. Savitri S Rao and Mamatha compered the programme. V Muralidhar Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.

    Well Done Asha Jyothi for organising such wonderful event and bringing awarenes about physically challenged children .I am sure this will help to rejuvenate the hopes of their Parents & it will be a wonderful experience for everyone those are involved to do this event. Govenment of India must grant special facilities to the physically challenged children.
    I congratulate Daiji world for publishing this news , Hope this will continue and one day we will have better world for the less previlage children Regards Leslie
