Karkala, Jan 10: Lava-Kusha Jodukare Kambala, a heroic sport involving buffalo race in Tulunadu was held at Miyar, near here from Saturday January 8 to Sunday January 9.
A total of 178 pairs of buffaloes took part along with their handlers at the Lava-Kusha Jodukare Kambala. The galleries were packed with thousands of viewers, who with great enthusiasm played their part in the historical Kambala.Neklajeguttu buffalo pair that participated under one of the category in the name of the former MLA V Sunil Kumar bagged the first prize.
Karkala MLA Gopal Bhandary, Moodbidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain including both newly-elected ZP and TP members and peoples’ representatives were present on the occasion.
