Moodbidri: Lloyd and Jossy Memorial Cricket, Throwball Tourney held

Moodbidri, Jan 10:  ICYM Taccode organized Late Lloyd Lobo and Late Jossy Cardoza Memorial Men’s Cricket and Ladies’ `Throwball tournaments at Holy Cross Church Taccode, here on Saturday January 8 and Sunday January 9.

Alangar team won the Cricket Tournament whereas Vamanjoor team emerged winners of Throwball Tourney.

Arun Mendes inaugurated The Throwball Tournnament and Felix D’Souza Taccode inaugurated the Cricket Tournament and narrated the history of cricket matches in Taccode. The inaugural function was presided over by the parish priest of Taccode church, Dr Mark Castelino.

27 teams from Mangalore diocese participated in the cricket tourney. Taccode team beat Angelore and Alangar team beat Saverapura to reach final.

In the final, Alangar team beat Taccode to win the trophy.

Individual Awards

Man of the Match : Mecton, Alangar
Man of the Series : Vinod Pinto, Taccode
Best Bowler : Mewlin, Alangar
Best Fielder : Dolfy, Alangar
Best Batsman : Rohit, Alangar

In the Throwball final, Vamanjoor team beat Taccode to win the trophy.

Individual Awards

Best Smasher : Pramila Dsouza, VamanjoorBest All-rounder :Priya Albuquerue, Taccode
Player of the Tourney : Sandhy Rebello, Taccode

The Closing ceremony was presided over by Parish Priest, Dr Mark Castelino. The chief guests present were Andrew D`Souza, head Master of St Joseph`s Higher Primary School - Taccode; Michael Lobo (father of Late Lloyd Lobo) and Sylvester Cardoza (Father of Late Jossy Cardoza).

On the occasion, Andrew D’Souza was honoured by the guests and ICYM Taccode for his valuable service as head master of Taccode School for seven years.

Both days' programmes were comepered by Vinod Pinto, Taccode.
