Mangalore, Jan 10: In a swift operation carried out by lokayukta officials on Monday January 10, Shirastedar of JMC court has been nabbed for demanding bribe from advocate Raghavendra Rao to get FIR documents pertaining to the case required for the court procedures.

P P Hegde, advocate informed presspersons that Rudrappa developed the habit of demanding bribe ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 1,000 while signing applications and documents. Advocate Raghavendra Rao, the president of BJP Yuva Morcha, submitted a file for signature and Rudrappa demanded Rs 200 for signing it.

Thereafter, Rao filed an FIR in the police station and Inspector Uday said that this case cannot be handled by him. Therefore, later Rao filed a complaint with the lokayukta, which directed him to offer Rudrappa currency notes applied with phenolphthalein powder. Rao offered the bribe and informed the lokayukta, after which Rudrappa was immediately taken into custody, informed Hegde.

This kind of shameless work by a court worker is reported first time, said Advocate Hegde. The case will be soon directed to the High Court. The Mangalore Bar Association and the BJP Yuva Morcha have condemned corruption and will hold a protest to demand justice for advocates.

The lokayukta police team was led by deputy superintendent of police Lokesh, Gangadhar and other staff members.

How many of these so called lawyers manage to register the property without paying bribe to sub-registrar and pocket a share during the registration of a property? No doubt corruption must be condemned by all means but on what moral ground these so called lawyers condemn corruption while they themselves grooming corruption when and where it suits to them?

when i read this entire story i felt i need to comment on this ... These are the some key points which made me to comment .

    1. There are some advocates want be on lime light at least once in three months .

2.This is clearly a master plan to do so

    3. Think there might be bar association election is coming up and this might be a kind of publicity stunt

Dear team Lokayuktha Mangalore RTO is one of the most corrupted area and also filled with thousands of brokers .. please keep your eye open catch hold of culprits who make thousands every day everyday by taking thousands .

" PP Hegde informed press persons that Rudrappa developed the habit of demanding bribe ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 1,000 while signing applications and documents" and lokayukta offered phenolphthalein powder notes to trap a person who was taking bribes from Rs 100 to Rs 1,000 .
This is a clear case of masterplan of PP Hegde....
If lokayukta is trying to trap people taking bribes from Rs 100 to Rs 1,000 , we need to import tonnes and tonnes of phenolphthalein powder cause who in India doesnt take bribes from 100 - 1000 rupees ??
Im very sure even the lokayukta had taken some to trap this Rudrappa .
Anyways PP Hegde and the Lokayuktha guys ,U might be able to fool the public and common people ..But dont think that u r dirty tricks would not go unnoticed by the almighty...Very soon you guys will have your share and the whole world would know about your dirty tricks..
Remember one thing..." What goes around , comes around ".

First of all Rudrappa is not a Mangalorean by origin. Secondly this is done at the behest of BJP party and its group.
Have it done by Bar association without any political identity, then this case has honest meaning. As the lawyers have political connection, the case seems to be either pre planned or Mr. Radrappa has been trapped and he became a scapegoat.
When the leaders who supposed to the models are openly looting, then why the Lokayukta not arresting them? Why only clerical level staff has been targeted. Is there personal vengeance between Mr. Rao and Mr. Rudrappa.

If only the same enthusiasm & vigour had been shown by yuv morcha to nab all politicians, the state wouldn't have gone through the agony & pain it witnessed in the last few months of 2010.
Hope corrupt politicians are (not) spared & only small fish is caught (symblolic) to show what a great party with a diffrence intend to cleanse the system

Corruption is common and the same has to be condemned. But the complainant should be a person of clean hands. Otherwise the complaint is meaningless.
