Shivamogga: Harsha murder - Probe from five angles, over 40 FIRs registered

Daijiworld Media Network - Shivamogga (SP)

Shivamogga, Mar 3: The district police have been probing the murder of Bajrang Dal worker, Harsha, from five angles. Even though prima facie the murder appears to have happened because of old enmity, the police want to know the compulsions which made the accused, who were striving to get two square meals a day, to kill Harsha at the cost of risking their future. It is learnt that over 40 FIRs have been registered so far in this case.

It is being said that Qasif, who played a major role in the murder, and Harsha, were having bitter enmity between them from 2015 onward. The police want to know whether Qasif used the help of his friends to settle this old personal score.

The city had witnessed frenzied activities relating to the Hijab-related controversy. It is said that Harsha had distributed saffron shawls to the college students on this occasion. Whether this opportunity was used to settle old scores in the backdrop of Hijab-related fractions, is a point the police are interested in probing.

Harsha, being a part of Hindu organizations, had taken part in communal frictions and was jailed. The police want to know whether the communal angle played its role in the murder.

Because Harsha was in the forefront of Hindu activities, he had several enemies. The police want to find out whether the services of Qasif and his associates were used to settle this enmity.

After Harsha shared a controversial post in his Facebook page relating to Hindutva principles, he had received threatening calls from certain organizations. It has to be verified whether these organizations got Harsha eliminated.

In the meanwhile, a person who flashed a sabre at the policemen during the stone pelting which happened during the funeral procession of Harsha, identified as Sajjat, has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
