Mangaluru: Hijab controversy - ABVP activist receives threatening calls

Mangaluru, Mar 7: Sai Sandesh, student of Dayananda Pai first grade college and an activist of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, whose video relating to Hijab controversy had become viral, has been receiving calls posing threat to his life, it is learnt. The callers are strangers.

The callers reportedly told him that they are aware of his whereabouts and movements and that he cannot escape from their ire. A complaint in this connection was made to the cyber police station. Sai Sandesh has said that he has been receiving calls from foreign numbers, and also through Instagram, WhatsApp etc.

Recently there was a standoff between Hijab-clad girl students and male students of the said college. Complaints and cross complaints have been filed. The college is now conducting only online classes.
