Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Mar 9: The education department faced hard times for the last two and half years because of coronavirus pandemic. It conducted exams for the SSLC students for two days while PU students were promoted without exams. But this time, the department is determined to conduct the examinations to all. The students who have stayed away for long from schools because of covid19, Hijab controversy etc are now given exemption from minimum attendance conditions.

The government, taking account the fact that the education sector suffered during the academic year due to coronavirus, has decided to exempt the students from the condition of mandatory minimum attendance.

Taking Into account the delay in the start of physical classes, network problems during online classes etc, the department has decided not to insist on minimum 75 percent attendance for appearing for the board exams this year. Students who have enrolled themselves have been allowed to appear for the exams, said primary and secondary education minister, B C Nagesh.

PU education department director, Ramachandran, has also clarified that because of various problems including corona, all the students will be allowed to appear for SSLC and PU examinations.
