Mangaluru, Mar 10: “The darkness has spread all over the society. Darkness shows lack of light. Instead of considering the darkness of earth as hindrance, we should light the lamp of knowledge. Social workers Sheena Shetty and Krishna Moolya are doing the job of lighting the lamp in society,” said Prof G S Jayadeva, son of Rashtrakavi G S Shivarudrappa and secretary of Chamarajanagara Deenabandhu Trust.
Prof Jayadeva was speaking at a programme organized on Sunday at Hoohakuvakallu Government Higher Primary School after releasing the book ‘Adwithiya’, service story of social workers Sheena Shetty and Krishna Moolya under the campaign ‘Seva Belaku – Susthira Baduku’ of Janajeevana Balepuni.
Prof Jayadevar further said, “Hatred between religions is detrimental to development. What is important is the values which we give through education. Healthy environment is required for healthy minds. In order to develop a healthy environment awareness must be created."
The Author of the book, Dr Narendra Rai Derla gave a bird’s view of the book. The programme was inaugurated by U T Khader, vice chairman of the Opposition party of Legislative Assembly. President of Janajeevana Ramesh Shenava presided over the function. Prof B Nityananda Shetty gave an insight into the book. Sevabaduku photography was unveiled by Nava Sakshare Yashoda Laila.
President of Mysore Electrical Industries Santhosh Kumar Rai Boliyar, former president of zilla panchayat Mamata D S Gatti and Chandrahasa Karkera, President of Balepuni gram panchayat Raziya and Shivaprasad Alva were the chief guests.
Social workers Sheena Shetty and Krishna Moolya shared their life experiences with the audience.
Chandrahasa Kanathoor welcomed the gathering. Kallur Nagesh compered the event. Pundarikaksha proposed a vote of thanks.
In the valedictory function, Lecturer Dr Udaya Kumar Irvathur did the valedictory speech. CEO of zilla panchayat Dr Kumar, secretary of Soliga Welfare Association V Muthaiah, vice president Munimadamma, Prof Hilda Rayappan and Dr Rita Noronha were present.
Umiya Radhakrishna Rai welcomed the gathering. Hyder Kairangala compered the valedictory event. Ibrahim Nadupadavu proposed a vote of thanks.
