Exciting Day at DKCA Cricket Tourney, M'lore City Police, Kings Kulai Truimph

Mangalore, Jan 17: The DKCA-Century T20 cricket tournament saw yet another action-packed day at Nehru Maidan here on Monday January 17, with Mangalore City Police team narrowly clinching victory in the first match of the day.

Having won the toss, Canara Youth Council, Krishnapura (CYC) elected to bat first against rivals Mangalore City Police XI. CYC set the latter a target of 138 runs for the loss of six wickets. The top scorers were Shabeer (46) and Haizal (23). Santhosh Prabhu who claimed 3 wickets for 30 runs was the top bowler for Mangalore City Police.
In reply Mangalore Police hit 139 runs for 8 with just two balls remaining, thanks to a splendid batting display by Chethan who scored 61 with some support from Gautham (25). For CYC, it was Rameez who captured 2 wickets conceding 22 runs.
The second match of the day, between Kings Sports Club Kulai and Udupi Cricket Association (UCA) was as exciting, with UCA winning the toss and setting a target of 117 for the loss of 9 wickets. Kashinath was the top scorer with 39 runs while Dinesh of Kings Sports Club bowled economically, taking one wicket for 10 runs.
Kings Kulai won the match by 4 wickets, scoring 118 for 6 in 18.4 overs, thanks to Akhil (34) and Charan (41). Prathul of UCA bagged 2 wickets for 20.
