Udupi, Mar 12: MLA Raghupati Bhat launched the state government’s programme ‘Kandaya Dakhale Raithara Mane Bhagilige’ (revenue documents on the farmers’ doorsteps), which was organized by district administration at Community Hall Thenkanidiyur here on Saturday March 12.
Before the formal stage function, Raghupati Bhat, deputy commissioner Kurma Rao and tahsildar Archana Bhat visited several houses and handed over the revenue documents. Meanwhile, officers of departments were present.
Raghupati Bhat addressing the gathering said, “People will get solutions for their revenue related problems only when the relationship and understanding is good between the government, people’s representative and officers. The government department officers should work honestly to provide services to the public on time. This project was designed with a far-sighted vision. The public is fed up of meeting various departments. This is a first-of-its-kind programme in the nation. But it will take 2-3 months for completion. This programme should be effectively implemented to get positive results.”
DC Kurma Rao said, “This is a good programme. When we meet the public to hand over documents, the expression on their faces was priceless. They expressed gratitude to the government. Some lands have no proper documents, as it comes from the ancestors. They are not aware of it. Mainly farmers or landlords must maintain records. The district administration has made all arrangements to distribute documents in 267 villages.”
ADC Sadashiva prabhu, Mattaru ratnakar Hegde, president, Coastal Development Authority, Gayathri, president, Thenkanidiyur village panchayat, Arun, vice president, were present.
Documents were distributed to beneficiaries under the Social Security Scheme.
Prashanth Shetty compered the programme.
