Mangalore, Jan 19: Three persons, who were involved with shifting of electric cables transformers near State Bank Circle in the city on Tuesday January 18 evening, suffered burn injuries because of electric shocks. They have been identified as Chandrahas (24) from Kinnigoly, Venkatesh (25) and Puttaraju (24), from Arkalgud in Hassan district. All the three were working for a contractor working on behalf of Mangalore Electric Supply Company (Mescom).

The task of shifting transformers was being undertaken on Tuesday on behalf of Mescom. For this purpose, electric supply on that line had been cut off. After pruning down the branches of trees which interfered with electric cables, the transfer shifting work was undertaken. When the task was about to be completed, power supply resumed in the line all of a sudden, and Chandrahas, who was on the electric pole at the time, fell down after suffering shocks. Venkatesh and Puttaraju, who were installing the transformer, suffered burn injuries.
