Udupi: Holy Mass, Fireworks Mark Annual Feast of Milagres Parish

Udupi, Jan 20: The annual feast of Our Lady of Miracles parish, Milagres, Kallianpur, was celebrated here on Wednesday January 19. 


 

Fr Valerian Sequeira of Karwar diocese presided over the grand festal Eucharistic celebrations on Wednesday morning along with Milagres parish priest Fr Marcel, Fr Edwin, Fr Fred, Fr Vijay, and many priests from the deanery and neighboring parishes.  
 
Fr Sequeira, in his meaningful homily, stressed the need for marital bliss at a time when modern living has affected social values. Fr Marcel thanked the office-bearers of the parish council for their support in organizing the annual feast.  
 
The choir group of Milagres rendered melodious music for the festal Holy Mass. Fr Marcel presented the blessed candles to key sponsor of this year’s annual feast - Melvyn Sequeira and family, Elias Mascarenhas and family, Gilbert D’Silva and family, ahead of the festal Holy Mass.
 
Fr Marcel along with Fr Edwin, Fr Fred, and Fr Vijay, conveyed best wishes to all parishioners after the Eucharistic celebration. Fr Marcel presented a memento to John Patrick Lewis and Joseph Monterio of M & L Eden Developers, the sponsors for next year’s annual feast.
 
Hundreds of parishioners and others from neighbouring parishes attended the annual feast at Milagres parish. The vespers were held at the parish on Tuesday January 18.
 
Fr Sylvester D’Costa, parish priest, Scared Heart parish, Kolalgiri, celebrated the vespers Holy Mass along with many priests on Tuesday evening.
 
The Holy Mass concluded with adoration to the Holy Sacrament. A large number of parishioners attended the Mass. An attractive display of fireworks was also held after the Holy Mass on the parish grounds.
