Mangalore, Jan 23: ‘Preran – 2011’, a workshop on Konkani short stories was inaugurated at Shanthi Kiran, Bajjody here on Saturday January 22.
The workshop was inaugurated by Liyaab , Leo D’Souza with the pen name ‘Kavyadas’, who is a senior poet as well as a story writer. The programme began with an introduction by HM Pernal.
Leo D’souza, inaugurator of the event spoke on the occasion and said there is a need for writers and more number of readers. There are writers who need guidance to become good writers. He stressed on the fact that there is a need for the growth of the writers and readers.
After the inauguration Aedi Netto and HM Pernal engaged the class and as per the schedule a movie was screened for film appreciation which was led by William Pais.
President of the forum welcomed the gathering; Treasurer Joakim Pinto and Vithori Karkal were present.
The second day’s events were revealed during the gathering.
Dr willy R D’Silva will be engaging a class which will be followed by ‘Kathasandhi’ by prominent poets and writers like, Vally Vagga, Bernard J Costa and Richie John Pais. Francis Ludrig, editor of Rakno weekly will the president of the valedictory and Taytus Noronha, well-knowN poet will be the chief guest.
The fourth workshop of Konkani Writers Forum will be concluded on Sunday januray 23 at 4.00pm.
