Bahrain, Jan 23: Bunts Bahrain celebrated the eighth ‘Annual Day’ at Ritz Carlton Hotel and Spa, Al Ghazal Ball Room here on Friday January 21.
Renowned Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty and entrepreneur Shashi Kiran Shetty, Chairman – ECU Hold NV, Belgium graced the occasion. They arrived at the venue at 11.00 am and were welcomed with traditional kumba swagatha.
The president Amaranth Rai and the committee members escorted them to the main hall. Sudhir Kumar Shetty, assistant entertainment secretary welcomed the gathering. Prayer song and invocation dance were presented followed by a stage programme.
Amaranth Rai along with vice-president Bharath Shetty escorted Suniel Shetty and Shashi Kiran to the dais. They were felicitated with a Shawl, fruits and memento.
Speaking on the occasion Rai expressed his joy and gratitude towards Suniel Shetty and Shahshi Kiran for their presence.
Addressing the gathering Shashi Kumar Shetty narrated his personal experience, the way he worked and established his All Cargo Global Logistics Ltd and how he acquired ECU Hold NV-a Belgium-based NVOC multinational logistics sector in June 2006 which is the second largest NVOC in the world.
Actor Suneil Shetty briefed about his career which started in the year 1992 with a movie Balwaan. Following this, his 3 hit movies were released in 1994, Dilwale, Mohra, and Gopi Kishan. During his question-answer session he revealed that he was a hotel management degree holder and was good in marketing and at present he is involved in more business activities. Shetty was awarded the best actor title at the South Asia International Film Festival for his movie Red Alert. He has acted in over 100 movies and has gained immense popularity and his presence certainly added glamour to the programme.
The cultural programme with patriotic songs, Kannada/Hindi remix dance, mischief boutique song, skit and a filmy Hindi dance, was well appreciated by the audience. Suniel Shetty congratulated the local Bunts choreographers, Ashitka Shetty, Hema Siva Kumar Shetty, Shalini Shetty and Ajith Shetty for their way of skilful talent.
At the end of the cultural programme ‘Om Shathi Om’, family couple dance entertained the gathering and Suniel himself danced along with the couple. General secretary Nithin Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. At the end Ritz Carlton arranged buffet to all the invitees of Bunts Bahrain annual day.

Bunts Bahrain with 500 members at present was established on February 23, 2002. In the previous year they had organized a flurry of activities such as Sri Sathyanarayan Pooja, 7- a- side cricket tournament , food festival, annual picnic, moral discourse by Odiyoor Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji , barbeque night and so on.
In 2010, Bunts Bahrain association has also contributed 1 lac Rs to the education trust of Sri Gurudevannada Swamiji, Rs 50,000 to Kundapur taluk for children’s scholarship and Rs 30,000- to support the marriage of 2 Bunt girls from Bantwal taluk.
