Karnataka Sangha Qatar Gears Up for Annual Floodlit Cricket Tourney

Doha, Jan 24: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) is all set to host the second annual floodlit cricket tournament.

The group fixtures for the tournament were drawn during the gathering which was held at Garden Village Restaurant, here.  Participating team captains, team managers and KSQ organizing committee members were present.

Vice- president of KSQ V Mannangi welcomed the gathering and Deepak Shetty, the sports secretary of KSQ briefed the tournament details and read out the rules and regulations of the tournament. 

This was followed by an open forum of questions and answers for 10 minutes during which the participating teams put forth their concerns with the organizing committee.

There are 12 teams participating in the tournament namely Hannan, Pallonji, CBQ, Tulukoota, Al Muftah, SKMWA, Tech Solutions, QDC, Lagaan, KIA, ATS and QALCO.

The results of the group fixtures are as follows:

A1: Al Muftah
A2: QDC
A3: KIA

B1: SKMWA
B2: TQ
B3: Pallonji

C1: QALCO
C2:  Lagan
C3: Tech Solutions

D1: Hannan
D2: CBQ
D3: ATS

Chidanand of Pallonji Qatar is the main sponsor for the tournament. The matches will commence at the Ideal School Grounds on February 1.  All the participating teams are requested to be present on time for the grand opening ceremony at Old Ideal Indian School Ground on February 1.

The match schedule would be announced after the opening ceremony. KSQ plans to invite a cricketer of international fame for the closing ceremony. KSQ has appealed to all the cricket lovers in Qatar to come and watch the spectacular tournament and extend their whole-hearted support to the participating teams. 
The fixtures were conducted by Dr Sanjay Kudri. Deepak Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. KSQ especially thanked Daijiworld for the continuous support and covering of events.
