Black Money Estimated at $462 billion to $1.4 trillion: Pranab

New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS) Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee Tuesday said the estimate of black money stashed abroad by Indians and Indian entities was estimated at between $462 billion and $1.4 trillion and every step within means was being taken to bring it back.

He also made it clear that unless there are legal provisions in other countries, the two pacts India has been entering with them -- double tax avoidance treaties and information exchange agreements -- cannot help in revealing the names of perpetrators.

Then finance minister made the observations during a press conference to clarify the government's stand on black money.

    Why there is no coments from ismail k P from Yenabu??? and many critics?? is it because cogress is involved? when comenting one should be very impartial. criticise the bad deeds and appreciated the good things who ever do it.

    Govt is disclosing rough figure here means it should be a small portion of the total figure. I am sure shortly they will disclose names but dont be surprised to see no main Cong polticians names existing in the list. They will make all thise precautions to make few people scapegoats in this. Then the money will come back and again goes into the politicians stomach in some manner. End result: no change in life style of the poor who remains as he is for years to come.
