Bengaluru, Mar 25: State JD(S) President and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has lambasted the Congress opposition leader in the Assembly Siddaramaiah for speaking lightly about the saffron robes worn by Hindu Swamijis.

Speaking to media representatives in Hubballi on Friday, March 25, the JD(S) leader also criticised the Assembly Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri for referring to RSS as ‘’our RSS’’ and that a time will come when everybody accepts RSS as their organisation.

The Assembly Speaker is expected to be totally apolitical and shed his earlier affiliations and serve as an impartial leader of the House, he said.

Kumaraswamy also took the Congress party and its members for remaining silent in the House when the Speaker openly exhibited his love and RSS affiliation.

Jaladhare from April

The JD(S) leader announced that his party’s state-wide Jaladhare campaign to highlight the injustice done to Karnataka by successive governments in the State and their failures on the irrigation issues.

The date and detailed programme will be announced soon after the ongoing Legislature session, he said.

Kumaraswamy said 15 vehicles will be touring the entire State and cover 180 out of the 224 assembly constituencies in the State. ``The sacred water from the 55 important rivers and water sources will be collected and kept in the party office for a year for offering puja,’’ he added.
