Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 28: To instill a healthy habit of conservation of water, the World Water Day was celebrated on March 22 in Lourdes Central School with an assembly led by Tia of class 7D.

Each day brings with it a new chance and new things to discover hence Erica of class 6D enriched us with the thought for the day.

The significance of the day was highlighted by Nathan - World Water Day, held on March 22 every year since 1993, focuses on the importance of freshwater. World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness of the people living without access to safe water. It is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis. A core focus of World Water Day is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal that is clean water, hygiene, sanitation for all by 2030.

Few tips to conserve water was given by Nived of Class 6A. Saving water is need of the hour hence to create awareness, group song was sung by school choir on ‘ye paani Zindgani’. It was beautifully sung and save water message was clearly understood.

Fr Anush in his key note address gave a befitting message by quoting the words of Robert Frost – two roads diverged in a wood and I took the one less travelled and made all difference. He motivated us to work hard and do well in future.

As a conclusion we pledged and assured our support in making sure that everyone must have access to fresh water in the near future.
