'The Kashmir Files' row: BJP protests at Kejriwal's house, AAP claims vandalisation

New Delhi, Mar 30 (IANS): The members of Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha on Wednesday staged a protest outside the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the latter's recent remarks in the Assembly on 'The Kashmir Files' movie.

The Aam Aadmi Party, however, alleged that the protesters attacked the Chief Minister's house.

"CM Arvind Kejriwal's HOUSE ATTACKED BY BJP! SECURITY BARRIERS BROKEN, CCTVs CAMERAS BROKEN, GATE VANDALISED, WITH FULL SUPPORT FROM BJP'S DELHI POLICE. All for demanding Rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits?," the party tweeted from its official handle.

Confirming about the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sagar Singh Kalsi said that around 11.30 a.m. onwards a protest was started by around 150-200 protesters of the BJP Yuva Morcha outside the chief minister's residence.

"Around 1 p.m., some of the protesters breached two barricades and reached outside the CM House where they created ruckus, shouted slogans, etc. They were carrying a small box of paint from which they threw paint outside the door. In the imbroglio, a boom barrier arm was also found vandalised as also a CCTV camera," Kalsi said.

The senior police official further informed that the police team immediately removed them from the spot and detained around 70 persons.

"Legal action is being initiated," he added.

Notably, the protest was led by BJP Yuva Morcha's national secretary Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga and its national president Tejasvi Surya.

I watched the video where Kejriwal had lambasted BJP and its ministers for doing propaganda for the movie Kashmir File. The video was so hilarious that I could not stop watching it again and again. When BJP politicians feel insulted, humiliated and hurt, they just send their rowdies to attack their target and that's what they did with Kejriwal. The way BJP is projecting the film makes me to feel that they are hired as Advertising Managers for the film. The movie was super hit only because it was endorsed by BJP boss, so everyone thought of seeing it, which was made tax-free too. I too started to watch and stopped at midway as I did not like it at all. Besides, it was an one-sided story, most likely the film is made on BJP's behest.

The BJP is at it again. Kejriwal had mocked at BJP for the way it gave publicity to the movie instead of rehabilitating the Kashmiri Pandits. What BJP has done is the greatest disservice it could do to the Kashmiri Pandits. However, they are in denial mode. And BJP has used its entire machinery to project that Kejriwal had mocked the Kashmiri Pandits. Any person who has heard Kejriwal's speech clearly knows whom he mocked. However hard it may try, the truth is that it is not possible for BJP to corner Kejriwal in any way - at least for the time being.

This criminal goonda party is using mob power outside the Parliament House for whatever legitimate discussions are going on in the parliament between the govt and opposition to silence and demoralize the opposition by illegal force. This is not acceptable and the ruling PM’s silence is adding more fuel and support to this criminal act.
