Bihar: Aurangabad students excel in Class 10 board exams


Patna, Apr 1 (IANS): The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Thursday declared the Class 10 exam results with a pass percentage of 77.88 per cent.

The students from Aurangabad dominated the board exams with four making to the Top 10 list.

The results were announced by Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, 34 days after the exams concluded.

As per an official of the BSEB, 16,11,099 students appeared in the exams out of which 12,86,971 passed.

Ramayani Rai, a native of Maoist-hit Daud Nagar in Aurangabad district, achieved the top rank in the state. She secured 487 marks out of 500, followed by Sania Kumari of Nawada and Vivek Thakur of Madhubani, who emerged joint second with (486/500). Sania is the daughter of a sweet seller in Rajauli block in Nawada district.

Pragya Thakur, another student from Aurangabad, finished third with 485 marks.

Shambhu Kumar and Tripti Raj from Aurangabad managed 481 and 479 marks to finish seventh and ninth in the state, respectively.
