Dubai: Byndoor Catholic Association Celebrates 21st anniversary with Glee

Dubai, Jan 30: The annual get-together and 21st anniversary of Byndoor Catholic Association (BCA) was celebrated at Tantra Hall, Karama Hotel here on on Friday January 28.
The programme commenced at 11:30am with prayer song and Bharata Natyam dance from Sheya Gras and Shaina Gras followed by welcome song from BCA members.
J L D’Souza, owner of System Engineering, Dubai was the chief guest for the occasion. Dayan D’Souza, DaijiDuabi and Joseph Mathias, owner of Merit Freight Systems, Dubai were the other guests. Francis Fernandes, Cassia and Rikita Pereira, junior level Tennis player, daughter of BCA honorary president Rudolph Pereira were the honorary guests.
BCA president Salvadore Nazareth welcomed the dignitaries on stage. BCA secretary Dinesh Gras gave the annual report of BCA and also spoke about the future aims and plans of the association. The concluding speech was given by BCA honorary president Rudoplh Pereira.
The donor’s of the Byndoor Church needy children’s fund were felicitated with mementoes on the occasion. Comedy King Francis Fernandes Cassia was felicitated for his various Konkani Activities. Junior level tennis player Rikita Pereira was also felicitated for winning various matches in UAE and abroad.
Chief guest J L D’Souza in his brief address congratulated BCA and all parishioners in UAE for keeping unity from last 21 years. Dayan D’Souza too lauded BCA and parishioners in their unity and BCA is one of the UAE’s Second Senior Association. Joseph Mathias wished all the success to BCA on 21st anniversary. Francis Fernandes Cassia recalled his childhood days in Byndoor and said he will always cherish it.
Various cultural programmes were presented. The entire entertainment programme was prepared under the leadership of BCA Cultural secretary’s Rony Byndoor and Ashok Dias
.Rony Byndoor, most popular singer in Dubai along with Miller Rodrigues, Eric and Gretta D’Souza, Jessy Nazareth and Diana sung various Konkani Songs and performed non-stop baila dance.
Lawrence D’Souza of Chikmagalore sung melodius Kannada Song ‘Akasaha Deepavu Nine’ and also mimicked different voices of actors.
Several wonderful dances were performed by young kids for Bollywood Songs. Popular Konkani writer Ashok Dias and his team – Kiran, Robert, Nobius, Jokim, Walter and Robert Nazareth performed rib tickling skits, Jokes and Country dance which left the audience in non- stop laughter. Noted keyboard player James Fernandes provided the background music for the entire programme.
Different spot questions, couple dance, best Baila dance performers and so on were conducted and attractive prizes were distributed. BCA president Salvadore Nazareth and secretary Dinesh Gras felicitated all the performers who entertained the gathering.
BCA co-treasurer Shaila D Gras delivered the vote of thanks. The entire programme was compered by talented singer Miller Rodrigues, Byndoor.
