Mangalore, Jan 30: The Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DKDCC) members observed the death anniversary of Father of the nation Gandhiji at their office premises on Sunday January 30.
The Congress leaders paid floral tribute to the portrait of Gandhiji and showed their respect. Speaking on the occasion Congress spokesperson M G Hegde said that the younger generation should follow the life and values of Gandhiji. Gandhi’s appealing personality has a strong impact all over the world, he added.
Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Sadashiva Ullal and T K Sudhir among others were present.
Two vehicles carrying the ‘youth message’ moved around the city from district congress office on the occasion prior to the ‘youth awareness convention’ scheduled to be held at Tokkottu ground on Wednesday February 2.
